Romantic Athens…
How long has it been since the two of you enjoyed a romantic night time stroll under the Acropolis, with a view of Lycabettus or a trip to the beach at Falirou? These are just some of our suggestions to create the perfect atmosphere and bring you that little bit closer to your loved one!
Put on some comfy shoes, take a coat as it’s getting chilly now and….relive your most romantic dates! Have you ever climbed Lycabettus? If you can’t do it on foot, you can use the cable car (it departs from the end of Aristippou Street in Kolonaki) or you can go by car and leave it at the parking place.
The view of Athens from Lycabettus is simply….. unbeatable! You can enjoy it from the ledges at its peak or from a romantic veranda of the restaurant Horizons for a really special night out.
Which lovely dovey couple hasn’t enjoyed a romantic stroll along the pedestrianized streets towards Thiseio? And admired the view of the illuminated Acropolis Museum? The Acropolis itself? The Parthenon? And when there is a performance at Herod, the atmosphere is simply magical, you will want these walks to last forever!
If your walk will end at Thiseio, we recommend visiting Chocolat, from its verandas you can feast on the view, enjoy the breeze and get cozy! Indulge in a drink or food and dessert.
Plaka and Anafiotika combine the hustle bustle of the city with tourism, but also peacefulness and romance as you climb its narrow streets. Perfect for an evening walk with your beloved! Start from the walkway at Kydathinaion, squeeze through the crowds that sit on the steps there outside Yiasemi and climb towards the small streets of Anafiotika and the mini hidden squares between Thespios, Ragada and Epimenidou streets. One of the most peaceful and romantic parts of the city of Athens.
Kastella hill, with its unique old stately homes and a view that takes your breath away, is recognized as one of the most beautiful parts of Piraeus. All the roads lead down to a balcony of sorts, the wide pavement on Papanastasiou, above Mikrolimano.
Perfect for a weekday evening, as the weekends there are so busy. Aside from a walk in front of the yachts, continue your stroll to Delta Falirou where you will find the Village Cinemas close to the beach in front of the centre of Faliros. Sit on a bench, enjoy some corn on the cob and take deep breaths of fresh sea air, whilst day dreaming at the sea!
