Romantic Athens…

November 15, 2020

How long has it been since you two enjoyed a romantic night walk under the Acropolis with a view of Lycabettus or a trip to Falirou beach? These are just a few of our suggestions to create the perfect atmosphere and bring you that little bit closer to your loved one!

Put on some comfortable shoes, take a coat with you because it’s getting chilly now and……. your most romantic dates! Have you ever climbed the Lycabettus? If you can’t walk, you can take the cable car (it leaves from the end of Aristippou Street in Kolonaki) or you can drive and leave it in the parking lot.

The view of Athens from Lycabettus is simply…….. unbeatable! You can enjoy it from the rocky outcrops at the top or from the romantic veranda of the Horizons restaurant for a very special evening.

What couple in love hasn’t enjoyed a romantic stroll through the pedestrian zone towards Thiseio? And admired the view of the illuminated Acropolis Museum? The Acropolis itself? The Parthenon? And when there’s a performance at Herod, the atmosphere is simply magical and you will wish these walks would last forever!

When your walk ends in Thiseio, we recommend a visit to Chocolat, from whose veranda you can enjoy the view, enjoy the breeze and make yourself comfortable! Treat yourself to a drink or a meal and dessert.

Plaka and Anafiotika combine the hustle and bustle of the city with tourism, but also with tranquillity and romance as you walk through the narrow streets. Perfect for an evening walk with your loved one! Start your walk at Kydathinaion, push your way through the crowds sitting on the steps in front of Yiasemi and climb up to the small alleys of Anafiotika and the little hidden squares between Thespios, Ragada and Epimenidou streets. One of the most peaceful and romantic parts of Athens.

Kastella Hill, with its unique old mansions and a view that takes your breath away, is considered one of the most beautiful areas of Piraeus. All the streets lead down to a kind of balcony, the wide sidewalk on Papanastasiou, above Mikrolimano.
Perfect for an evening out during the week, as the area is very busy at weekends. Apart from a walk in front of the yachts, you can continue your walk to Delta Falirou, where you will find the Village Cinemas near the beach in front of the centre of Faliros. Sit on a bench, enjoy some corn on the cob and breathe in the fresh sea air while you dream of the sea!
